Our progress would not have been possible without unwavering support from individuals like you. Your generosity has propelled us toward remarkable accomplishments, shaping a year defined by groundbreaking initiatives and far-reaching impact. Following are some of our accomplishments.

Education

  • Hosts the premier information website on SCA reaching 160K+ unique users/annually 
  • Distributes press releases reaching 40K+ potential readers/annually
  • Conducts ongoing social media reaching 22K+ fans and followers/annually
  • Distributes targeted newsletters reaching 10K+ subscribers 24 times/annually
  • Cited in national news outlets including The New York Times, Newsweek, NBC, EMS World, and Sinclair Broadcast Group
  • Presentations at key national conferences.

Research

  • Conducted consumer research to ascertain public awareness of SCA and messaging to strengthen understanding and compel action
  • Aligned with some of the best and brightest conducting research among people personally affected by cardiac arrest (survivors, co-survivors, lay rescuers), aimed at helping people thrive in their survivorship journeys

  • Home of the Cardiac Arrest Survivor Alliance (CASA), a free online community for people affected by cardiac arrest

  • Provides evidence-based resources
  • Enjoys high engagement rate, far surpassing platform benchmark
  • Hosts public webinars on prevention and treatment of cardiac arrest and post-survival quality of life
  • Hosts private member meetups for survivors and co-survivors
  • Largest resource in the world for researchers studying survivorship
  • Chapters in Oregon and Southern California
  • Local community outreach including CPR training and AED placement
  • Active member of NFL-led Smart Heart Sports Coalition, promoting state and federal legislation and programs to prevent and treat SCA in schools and youth sports settings, including the HEARTS Act
  • Provides awards to recognize and inspire immediate action by people who witness SCA including:
    • “People Saving People Award” for lay rescuers who help save a life
    • “Cardiac Arrest Survival Video Contest” to raise awareness about cardiac arrest and saving lives
    • “Stan Wisniewski Inspiration Award” for survivors who pay it forward and make a difference
