At the Onelife Fitness gym in Vienna, Virginia, a routine workout turned into a life-or-death situation. Vice Admiral Yancy Lindsey, a decorated Navy officer, suddenly collapsed during a group fitness class.

Immediate Response

Five individuals, a mix of gym staff and fellow gym-goers, sprang into action. Recognizing the emergency, they immediately started CPR and utilized the gym's AED.

A Coordinated Effort

Among the rescuers were an off-duty nurse, a Navy reservist, and several gym employees. Their combined efforts and training ensured that Vice Admiral Lindsey received the critical care he needed in those crucial moments.

A Grateful Family

Thanks to their quick response, Vice Admiral Lindsey was revived and transported to the hospital, where he underwent successful surgery. His family expressed their immense gratitude to the five individuals who saved his life, emphasizing the importance of CPR training and AED accessibility.
