The Sudden Cardiac Arrest Foundation is launching a new initiative to empower passionate individuals to raise awareness of sudden cardiac arrest (SCA), promote CPR and AED training, and help build more educated and prepared communities across the country.

We're looking for H.E.A.R.T. Champions — Heroes Empowering Action, Readiness & Training — to be the face of this movement in their schools, workplaces, clubs, and neighborhoods.

What H.E.A.R.T. Champions Do

H.E.A.R.T. Champions are volunteers who want to help raise awareness of Sudden Cardiac Arrest (SCA). As a Champion, you can:

  • Raise Awareness about SCA, its risk factors, signs/symptoms, statistics and more
  • Share Education about CPR, AEDs, and emergency readiness
  • Host or Support Events like training or awareness campaigns
  • Distribute Resources provided by the SCA Foundation
  • Amplify Messages on social media or in local news
  • Support Fundraising efforts in your local community to raise funds for SCA Foundation

You don't have to be an expert — just passionate, reliable, and eager to help. There are numerous ways to get involved, and champions can choose the types of projects they participate in based on their availability, skills and interests.

Why It Matters

Sudden Cardiac Arrest is one of the leading causes of death in the U.S., but survival is possible — especially when CPR and AEDs are provided quickly. With the help of H.E.A.R.T. Champions, we can make sure more people are aware of SCA and how to be prepared – and ultimately, save more lives.

Who Can Join?

Anyone! H.E.A.R.T. Champions can be:

  • SCA survivors and their loved ones
  • Students and educators
  • Coaches and athletes
  • Healthcare professionals
  • First responders
  • Lay rescuers
  • Everyday heroes, advocates and allies who care about raising awareness and saving lives
