Jay Leggett, who appeared on In Living Color and had stints on NYPD Blue and Ally McBeal, died Saturday, reports The Milwaukee Journal Sentinel.

The comic actor was 50.

Leggett died at a family cabin in Tomahawk, Wis., where he grew up, after returning from a deer hunt on the first day of the state's gun deer season.

Emergency crews were called to Leggett's cabin shortly after 4 p.m., arriving to find family members performing CPR on the actor, according to a Lincoln County Sheriff's Department news release. The Lincoln County Coroner responded to the scene and pronounced Leggett dead, reports the Wausau Daily Herald.

His death was believed to be heart related, but the coroner in Lincoln County, Wis., says a final cause of death is still pending, says The Sentinel.

In addition to his improv work and TV appearances, Leggett wrote and produced movies including Employee of the Month and Without a Paddle.
