Nick Gerstel demonstrates CPRPITTSBURGH, PA--The Sudden Cardiac Arrest Foundation participated yesterday in the fifth annual Maggie Dixon Heart Health Fair and Fan Fest, hosted by the University of Pittsburgh Basketball. The community health fair is held in honor of the late Maggie Dixon, Pitt coach Jamie Dixon's younger sister, who was the head coach of the Army Black Knights women's basketball team.

Jim Mali, Mary Newman, Nick Gerstel, Maria GillioIn 2006, she guided her team to its first-ever NCAA Tournament appearance. Just weeks later, Maggie died suddenly due to a heart arrhythmia. She was only 28-years-old. 

The event included free blood pressure health screenings and educational heart health displays, while fans obtained autographs from the Pitt men's and women's players and coaches. The Sudden Cardiac Arrest Foundation provided demonstrations in CPR and how to use an automated external defibrillator.

Jamie Dixon serves as Honorary Chairman of the Sudden Cardiac Arrest Foundation's Board of Directors.
