Alexander M. Presciutti, PhD, MSCS, is an Assistant Professor of Psychology at Harvard Medical School and Staff Psychologist at Massachusetts General Hospital. He is a co-founder of the Cardiac Arrest Survivor Alliance (product of the Sudden Cardiac Arrest Foundation), a peer support community for all those impacted by cardiac arrest.
Over the past 10 years, Dr. Presciutti has been dedicated to improving cardiac arrest survivorship through research, clinical work, and service. With funding from the National Institutes of Health, he is developing psychosocial programs for cardiac arrest survivors and their family caregivers to reduce distress and improve resilience. In 2023, he was inducted to the Citizen CPR Foundation’s “Top 40 Under 40” class in recognition of his outstanding contributions to survivorship. He was subsequently nominated to join the American Heart Association’s 2025 Post-Cardiac Arrest Care Guideline Writing Group and the Emergency Cardiovascular Care Committee to bring national awareness to supporting survivors, family members, and providers.
Dr. Presciutti practices clinically at Massachusetts General Hospital, working with cardiac arrest survivors, family members, and others impacted by critical illness, cognitive changes, and co-occurring mood symptoms.
