Three national nonprofit organizations announce a partnership designed to attract the largest gathering of sudden cardiac arrest survivors and rescuers ever attempted.
Orlando, FLA (PR WEB)--In preparation for National CPR and AED Awareness Week (June 1-7, 2012), the Citizen CPR Foundation (CCPRF) announces today its partnership with the Sudden Cardiac Arrest Association (SCAA) and the Sudden Cardiac Arrest Foundation (SCA FDN) for the Emergency Cardiovascular Care Update (ECCU) conference, to be held September 11-15th, 2012 in Orlando.
ECCU is the Citizen CPR Foundation’s dynamic biennial conference that promotes and celebrates the art, science, and impact of cardiac resuscitation. It is the premier venue to bring together every link in the “chain of survival” for the nation’s most lethal killer: sudden cardiac arrest (SCA).
The new partnerships with the SCAA and SCA FDN for ECCU 2012 will result in the largest gathering of survivors with their rescuers ever attempted. ECCU will see a robust and compelling two-day track of dynamic sessions designed to meet the needs of SCA survivors, family members and rescuers with presentations from leaders in the field.
"The highlight of the conference is the 'Pay it Forward' Survivor Celebration Dinner,” says CCPRF President Dr. Tom Aufderheide, “where people will hear inspiring and amazing stories by survivors from across the world who are alive due to the fusion of science, Good Samaritans who performed CPR, access to AEDs, effective EMS response and excellent medical care in the hospital—truly a team effort!”
ECCU is recognized as one of the most important venues for bringing together the entire spectrum of stakeholders on this topic, from educators, EMS providers, physicians, community advocates, scientists, administrators, school nurses, athletic directors, and (most importantly) survivors and their rescuers. This year’s theme is “Go for the Gold! Become a champion in the race to save more lives.”
