The Pittsburgh Foundation will match contributions through PittsburghGives

PITTSBURGH–The Pittsburgh Foundation has initiated
“PittsburghGives Match Day”—October 28—a way for individuals and companies to
contribute to nonprofit organizations based in Allegheny County, PA, and make
their gifts go further. The Sudden Cardiac Arrest Foundation is among those
approved to participate.

On Wednesday, October 28, 2009, beginning at 10:00 a.m. EST,
individuals may log onto www.PittsburghGives.org,
or participate in the live public event in the PPG Wintergarden, Downtown
Pittsburgh.

The Pittsburgh Foundation will match donations $.50 to the
$1.00, up to a maximum donation of $2,500. For example, if Jane Doe gives an
organization a $2,500 grant, the nonprofit will receive $1,250 in match money
for Jane’s gift.  If she raises her
gift to $10,000, the organization’s total in match money from Jane's gift is
still only $1,250.

The minimum credit card contribution is $50. The maximum
credit card contribution is $10,000. The minimum grant recommendation is $200.

The Pittsburgh Foundation will continue to match donations
until $200,000 in available matching grant funds are exhausted. This is
expected to occur within hours.

Donors are encouraged to register before the 28th,
creating a login, which consists of an email address and password. However, donations may not be made until 10:00 am.
