Survivors: Have a Few Minutes?

Do you have a few minutes to complete a brief survey? Lumei Tuomala, a third year medical student at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine, is conducting a survey on the quality of life experienced by people who survive sudden cardiac arrest. The study will also analyze differences among survivors less than 35 years of age, compared with survivors 35 years of age or older.

The survey consists of six parts. It asks for basic demographic information (age now, age at the time of arrest, sex, etc.), underlying medical conditions, coping mechanisms, family involvement, and psychiatric counseling interventions. 

If you participate in the survey, you will not not be asked to provide your name or geographic region, and your e-mail address will not be tracked. No one will have any identifiable information linking your identity to your survey responses. 

Although there is no monetary compensation for participating in the survey, your participation will help scientists better understand common experiences among survivors, and develop strategies for improving post-resuscitation care.
