It was a typical day off for Olivia, a dedicated firefighter with the Poudre Fire Authority in Colorado. Fresh out of the shower, she was startled by an unexpected alert from her phone – a PulsePoint Respond notification signaling a sudden cardiac arrest (SCA) nearby.

Instinct Takes Over

Without hesitation, Olivia sprang into action. She quickly made her way to the scene, arriving moments before the EMS crews. She found the patient in the backyard, surrounded by his distraught family.

A Firefighter's Expertise

Drawing on her professional training, Olivia assessed the situation and immediately began high-quality CPR. She continued her life-saving efforts as EMS arrived and took over.

A Community Effort

Thanks to Olivia's swift response, the patient received immediate, crucial care. The combined efforts of Olivia, the patient's family, the telecommunicator, and the responding EMS team resulted in a successful resuscitation. Olivia's ability to provide vital information to the EMS team further streamlined the patient's care, saving precious time in those critical moments.
