We honor James (Jamie) Froman, a strong supporter of the Sudden Cardiac Arrest Foundation (SCAF), who passed away on March 4, 2024. Jamie worked at Philips Healthcare and was responsible for much of the funding SCAF received from this company. He retired when he developed cancer, but Jamie continued to seek out ways to serve others, including providing career counseling, guidance in essay writing and interviewing skills, and guiding his sons' Boy Scout troop.
The University of Notre Dame has always held a special place in Jamie’s heart. In 2016, Jamie brought his young family to South Bend for a week of service through the Notre Dame Family Volunteer Camp. As a dedicated alum, he also helped lead multiple fundraising campaigns, including one to create and mount new Stations of the Cross plaques in Carroll Hall’s chapel.
"It was an honor to know and work with Jamie," said Mary Newman, SCAF president. "He was an amazing person and I cherish our interactions over the years."
He is survived by his wife Lisa and children John, Emily and Luke.
