Ready. Set. Save! Placing a 24/7 AED that saved a life

At last year’s 2023 Cardiac Arrest Survival Summit (CASS), our partner SaveStation and Parent Heart Watch member, the Just1Mike Foundation, gave an impactful presentation about challenging the status quo to place 24/7 accessible AEDs throughout Sonoma, California and beyond.

One of these AEDs, housed inside an outdoor SaveStation, was used to save the life of a 16-year-old who collapsed while playing basketball. He had suffered a sudden cardiac arrest, but because of the immediate action taken by his friends, and the quick access to the AED housed inside the nearby SaveStation Tower, he is alive today.

AEDs are typically placed indoors in North America, but by placing outdoor SaveStations everywhere we live, work and play, we can help prevent more unnecessary deaths from sudden cardiac arrest. Visit SaveStation.ca to learn more about how you can challenge the status quo and place a 24/7 accessible AED in your community!
